Next Stop (“Next Stop,” “we,” “us”) operates the website at nextstop.homes (the “Service”), a search tool that surfaces housing listings shared in public NYC-area WhatsApp and Facebook groups. Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google or with an email and password, we receive your name, email address, and (for Google) your profile picture.
- Your preferences.The search preferences you set — what you’re looking for, budget, neighborhoods, move-in timing, and house-rule filters.
- Saved listings. Listings you star are stored against your account.
- Assistant conversations. If you use the in-app assistant, the messages you send are processed to answer you and adjust your filters.
- Basic technical data. Standard logs (such as request metadata) needed to run and secure the Service.
Listing data from third-party groups
The listings shown on Next Stop originate from posts made by other people in third-party WhatsApp and Facebook groups. These posts can include the poster’s name, contact details, and photos. We aggregate, de-duplicate, and structure this content so it’s searchable — we are not the author or source of the listings, and we cannot guarantee their accuracy. If a listing concerns you and you would like it removed, contact us and we will address it.
How we use information
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To personalize your feed and remember your saved listings and preferences.
- To email you new listings that match your search, when you opt in — every such email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Service providers
We share data only with vendors that help us run the Service:
- Convex — application database and backend.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Google— sign-in (when you choose “Continue with Google”).
- OpenRouter — powers the optional in-app assistant.
- Google Analytics — aggregate, privacy-oriented usage analytics that help us understand how the Service is used.
Cookies & analytics
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We also use Google Analytics to measure aggregate usage (such as page views and general traffic patterns) so we can improve Next Stop. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and processes data as described in Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not use advertising or cross-site retargeting. You can block analytics with a browser setting or extension, or Google’s opt-out add-on.
Data retention & your choices
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can edit your preferences at any time in the app, and you can request access to or deletion of your account data by emailing hello@nextstop.homes. We’ll respond within a reasonable time.
Children
The Service is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
